How we price a lane
We price from the move you describe (ports, miles, equipment, timing), live port conditions, and our capacity that day. The first number you get is a dispatcher-reviewed estimate. It becomes the rate you book only after written confirmation. We do not guarantee third-party "market" screenshots or unpublished broker sheets — only what we confirm in writing.
Common questions
How fast will I get a rate?
During business hours (Mon–Sat), a dispatcher returns a confirmed rate within 30 minutes. Outside those hours we pick it up when dispatch reopens. Real dispatcher review on every quote — no automated guesswork on price.
What do I need to submit for an accurate quote?
Tell us the lane (origin/destination), container size/type, weight, and commodity. Optional reference numbers and notes help. More detail up front means fewer back-and-forths.
Is the number you send a binding rate?
Any rate we send is an estimate until you receive a written rate confirmation. Accessorials stay plain and published — no haggling theater.
Do you quote hazmat?
No. We are non-hazmat by policy. For hazmat freight, contact an HM-endorsed carrier. If you are unsure whether your commodity qualifies, ask before submitting and we will tell you straight.
How do rates and accessorials work?
We quote transparent lane rates with plain accessorials. Chassis pool day fees are built into the quoted rate where applicable (see Services). Port wait, detention, and other accessorials follow the confirmation terms — ask dispatch to spell them out before you book if anything is unclear.
How do I reach dispatch if I need to talk to someone?
Call (832) 900-3453 or email dispatch@sunbeltdrayage.com. Safety: (346) 214-0400. You can also use the quote form on this page.
